Guv, CM greet people on Nauroz

JAMMU: Governor NN Vohra today greeted people on the auspicious occasion of Nauroz tomorrow, which is also observed as World Arbour Day.

Governor NN Vohra today greeted people on the auspicious occasion of Nauroz tomorrow, which is also observed as World Arbour Day.

In his message of felicitations, the Governor observed that the festival had cultural and religious significance and appealed that everyone should join hands in planting trees for saving our rapidly deteriorating environment.

The Governor hoped that this auspicious day would be the harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the state.

Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti also felicitated the people of the state on the occasion of Nauroz. In her message, the Chief Minister appealed people to plant more trees to preserve the environment.

The Persian New Year – Nauroz, which also marks the beginning of the spring season, is being celebrated in the Kashmir valley tomorrow. Nauroz is celebrated with fervour, especially by the Shiite community, in the Valley.
