Guv releases Kalam’s ‘Wings of Fire’ in Pahari

JAMMU: Governor NN Vohra released ‘Ag ne Par’, a translation of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam’s autobiography ‘Wings of Fire’ in Pahari language by Parvez Maanous at Raj Bhawan here today.

Jammu, April 20

Governor NN Vohra released ‘Ag ne Par’, a translation of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam’s autobiography ‘Wings of Fire’ in Pahari language by Parvez Maanous at Raj Bhawan here today.

Zaffar Iqbal Manhas, member, Legislative Council, gave a brief introduction about the author and the book. The Governor complimented Maanous for his laudable initiative to translate and make available the autobiography of such an inspiring personality to the readers of Pahari language.

He urged Dr Aziz Hajini, Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, to see that such motivational books were widely circulated and made available in schools, colleges and public libraries and that the story book for children and a comic book in Pahari language brought out by Maanous was popularised.

Abdul Haq Khan, Minister for Law & Justice; Raja Manzoor, MLA, Karnah; Shafeeq Raina, Secretary, Food and Supplies, Syed Showqat Hussain Kazmi, DC, Excise; Dr Zakir Hussain Malik, secretary, Pahari Advisory Board; Abdul Qayoom Manhas, IGP (retd); Mohammad Saleem Malik, secretary, Service Selection Board; Dr Farooq Anwar Mirza, chief editor, J&K Cultural Academy; Sajjad Hussain Poonchi, CEO (retd); Abdul Wahid Manhaas, editor, Pahari Section and Mohammad Saleem Sheikh, public relations officer, Pahari Board, were also present on the occasion.
