Traders suggest changes in ‘guest control’ order

Ahead of its implementation from April 1, the Chamber of Traders Federation (CTF) has demanded suitable amendments in the ‘guest control’ order to make it more viable and people-friendly.

The CTF organised an interactive programme with Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Zulfkar Ali on Sunday evening and gave certain suggestions to make the order people-friendly.

In his address, the minister said the order would surely help people to make judicious use of essential commodities during public and private functions. “This order is for the betterment of society and now, majority of people of the state will avoid going for a big extravaganza,” he said.

The representatives of the CTF, led by federation president Neeraj Anand, said the Supreme Court order regarding noise pollution and use of firecrackers beyond 125 decibels was already in force which should be specified in the departmental order. He said in small functions like ‘satsangs’, shagun ceremonies, ring ceremonies, etc, around 150 guests may be permitted.

After listening to the representatives of the CTF, the minister promised that the department would surely consider the suggestions made by them.
