Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Nawang Rigzin Jora along with other party members today stormed into the well of the Assembly and later staged a walkout protesting the rejection of a Bill on promotion for reserved category employees.

As soon as Question Hour commenced, Jora raised the issue and was supported by his party colleagues and members belonging to reserved categories. However, Speaker Kavinder Gupta rejected the Bill saying it was not listed for today’s proceedings.

Contesting the Speaker’s order, the Congress members, led by Jora, stormed the well of the Assembly. The security staff of the Assembly had a tough time in controlling them. Later, Jora along with members Asgar Karbalie, Deldan Namgyal, Mohammad Akram and Mumtaz Khan walked out of the House in protest.
