Director General of Police, Prisons, J&K, Dilbag Singh on Monday visited the Fire and Emergency Services headquarters in Jammu to review the preparedness of the department.
This was his first visit to Jammu after assuming the charge of DG, Fire and Emergency Services. He met the command officers, besides holding a darbar with personnel and incharges of various fire and emergency stations of command, Jammu. RC Raina, Deputy Director, and Anjita Salgotra, Medical Officer, Fire and Emergency Services, Jammu, were also present.
Interacting with officers and personnel, he assured them that their genuine grievances would be addressed within the shortest possible time.
The Guard of Honour was presented to the DGP by the contingent of Fire and Emergency Services. He inspected the fire fighting and rescue demonstrations organised by officers and officials at the headquarters in Gandhi Nagar by utilising the hydraulic platform, fire tenders and rescue tenders.
The DGP appreciated the response time achieved in the drill and the role of personnel in safeguarding the life and property of the general masses. He also appreciated the successful programme conducted on Sunday on disaster mitigation and fire fighting at prisons training centre at Mishriwalla, Jammu.
Singh visited the administrative block of fire and emergency services and interacted with the staff posted in Range and Command Offices in Jammu. He also visited range stores and the regional workshop at Gangyal and inspected the stores andwell as construction workof the range stores.
