Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan on Saturday reviewed preparations for the upcoming Durbar move in Srinagar.
As part of the biannual move, the civil secretariat and other government offices will close in Jammu on April 27 and reopen in the summer capital on May 7.
The Divisional Commissioner visited various sections of the secretariat building and inquired about the status of the renovation works. He also reviewed residential accommodations for the move employees, besides sanitation and renovation works to be taken up in government quarters.
Khan directed the departments concerned to ensure that the renovation and repair work at the civil secretariat and government residential quarters was completed well in time. He said potable water, power and ration should also be made available for the move employees.
The Divisional Commissioner was accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, and officials of various departments.
