Dy CM celebrates Diwali with security forces

JAMMU: Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh on Thursday celebrated Diwali with security forces at the Border Outpost, Garkhal, in Akhnoor sector along the India-Pakistan International Border.



Jammu, October 20

Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh on Thursday celebrated Diwali with security forces at the Border Outpost, Garkhal, in Akhnoor sector along the India-Pakistan International Border. He was accompanied by his wife Mamta Singh and other family members.

Praising commitment of soldiers towards protection of the borders, Singh said their presence on the frontiers ensures that countrymen celebrate the day peacefully.

The Deputy Chief Minister lauded BSF and Armymen for guarding and protecting the country while living away from their homes. Singh interacted with the soldiers and distributed sweets among them.

“Every citizen of the country is proud of the security forces who are guarding our borders and giving us peaceful nights,” he said.

He said the government was committed to the “welfare and the betterment” of the security personnel in every possible way. — TNS
