Elderly woman teacher found murdered at her house in Jammu

JAMMU: A female teacher was murdered at Reshamghar Colony in Jammu on Wednesday morning. “Anita Suri, 58, resident of Reshamghar Colony, was found dead at her residence,” a police officer said, adding that she was working as senior faculty at AMT School.

A female teacher was murdered at Reshamghar Colony in Jammu on Wednesday morning.

“Anita Suri, 58, resident of Reshamghar Colony, was found dead at her residence,” a police officer said, adding that she was working as senior faculty at AMT School.

Bakshi Nagar SHO, along with a police team, rushed to Government Medical College where the body has been shifted. The real cause of the death would be ascertained only after post-mortem, but the body had signs of assault, the police said, adding that the circumstantial evidence confirmed that she was murdered with a sharp-edged weapon.

“A case under Section 302 of the RPC has been registered and investigation started. No theft has taken place and the deceased was reportedly alone at home at the time of the crime,” the police said.

The body has been shifted to the mortuary of the GMC Hospital.
