JAMMU: The Environment Awareness Forum has welcomed the state government’s action against industries involved in felling of protected khair trees in Kathua and Samba.

The Environment Awareness Forum has welcomed the state government’s action against industries involved in felling of protected khair trees in Kathua and Samba.

Some of these industries were recently raided and sealed by the government. The forum demanded that the government should take action against all the people involved in the illegal trade.

It also demanded strict action against Revenue and Forest Department officials involved in allowing the illegal trade of khair wood.
