JAMMU: The Viklang Chhatra Trust Old Care Society on Wednesday appealed to Governor NN Vohra to persuade the state government to properly compensate victims of Pakistani shelling who have lost their kin and suffered heavy losses.



Jammu: The Viklang Chhatra Trust Old Care Society on Wednesday appealed to Governor NN Vohra to persuade the state government to properly compensate victims of Pakistani shelling  who have lost their kin and suffered heavy losses.  In a letter to the Governor, Satya Pal Saraf, organiser of society, said the Union Cabinet in its meeting on August 24, 2016, gave an approval to enhance  compensation  to the  victims of cross-border firing  from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. The decision was widely hailed by the people of J&K living along the Line of Control and International Border, but it had not been implemented. TNS
