Governor NN Vohra visited the Mata Kheer Bhawani shrine at Tulmulla, Ganderbal, on Saturday to review the arrangements for Mela Kheer Bhawani commencing on June 20.
Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar, Ganderbal MLA; BB Vyas, Chief Secretary; Dr SP Vaid, DGP; RK Goyal, Principal Secretary (Home); Dr Piyush Singla, Ganderbal Deputy Commissioner; Fayaz Ahmad Lone, Ganderbal Senior Superintendent of Police, representatives of the Dharmarth Trust and several members of the Kashmiri Pandit community received the Governor on his arrival at the shrine, an official spokesman said.
The Governor discussed with the Chief Secretary, the Deputy Commissioner and other officers concerned the arrangements made by the district administration and the Dharamarth Trust for the stay of the pilgrims, particularly the sanitation facilities
He visited the sewage treatment plant at the shrine, which, he was informed by the Deputy Commissioner, would become operational in the next two days.
