First Lady Usha Vohra participated in the Mahila Yog Shakti Diwas, which was organised by the Bhartiya Yog Sansthan Ashram.

Emphasising the importance of yoga, the First Lady observed that its practice evolves an individual physically, mentally and spiritually and energises the entire metabolism. She said people across the world are incorporating yoga in their daily lives. Its popularity could be gauged from the fact that since 2015, International Yoga Day is being celebrated on June 21 in many parts of the world, she added.

Vohra thanked Bhartiya Yog Sansthan for her participation in the Mahila Yog Shakti Diwas and hoped that the women who participated in this programme would benefit from what they had learnt about maintaining sound health by practicing yoga.

Des Raj, general secretary, All India Bhartiya Yog Sansthan, gave an informative lecture on varied issues relatingto women’s health and the precautions they should take for leading healthy lives.
