SRINAGAR: A militant was killed in an ongoing encounter in frontier Kupwara district in north Kashmir on Thursday morning.

Srinagar, December 18

A militant was killed in an ongoing encounter in frontier Kupwara district in north Kashmir on Thursday morning.

The exchange broke out in Salkot locality of Kupwara town in north Kashmir as security forces launched an operation following information about the presence of militants there, a police official said.

Police said an unidentified militant has been killed in the encounter so far and the exchange of fire is continuing. Also, some arms and ammunition were recovered from the scene of the encounter.
