Claiming that the letter of the Lodha committee declaring Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) elections as null and void has not been received, the state cricket body today announced a list of 32 probables for four-day matches of the Ranji Trophy.

In a working committee meeting in July, the JKCA had re-elected Sports Minister Imran Ansari as president in disregard to the Supreme Court’s acceptance of Lodha panel recommendations on reforms in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), barring politicians, bureaucrats and ministers as office-bearers.

Ansari ended National Conference president and former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah’s three-decade-old tenure as president of the state cricket association.

Desh Rattan Dubey, JKCA joint secretary, Jammu wing, claimed that the letter wherein elections were declared as null and void had not been received by the association.

“We have not received any letter from the Lodha committee. Some legends of the game have raised questions about some recommendations of the Lodha committee,” he claimed.

“Some recommendations are very good and will be implemented, but not all. The recent annual general meeting of the BCCI is an example,” he said.

“Due to the unrest, we are facing some problems in informing players in the Valley. We are getting funds from the BCCI to conduct our calendar of activities,” he maintained.

Meanwhile, the probables to be selected were directed to report at the GGM Science College hostel ground at 9:30 am on Tuesday for the further selection process.

Ian Dev Singh Chauhan, Shubham Khajuria, Paras Sharma, Aditya Pratap Singh, Pranav Gupta, Mithun Manhas, Sandeep Singh, Ram Dayal, Rohit Sharma, Anshuman Singh, Rahil Singh, Raman Dutta, Manik Gupta, Bandeep Singh, Munish Dogra and Punit Bist were named from the Jammu division.

Parvez Rasool, Adil Reshi, Aamir Sofi, Ahmed Banday, Asif Khan, Omar Nisar, Mohsin Mufti, Imran Haroon, Owais Shah, Nadeem Dar, Omar Nazir, Zahoor Sofi, Samiullah Beigh, Suhail Andleeb, Aamir Aziz and Waseem Raza were selected from the Kashmir division.
