Over 3,000 students to take part in ‘Clean Tawi, Clean Jammu’ drive

JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Police Wives’ Welfare Association (PWWA) will launch an intensive awareness initiative — Clean Tawi, Clean Jammu — from May 21 to May 23.

Jammu, May 20

The Jammu and Kashmir Police Wives’ Welfare Association (PWWA) will launch an intensive awareness initiative — Clean Tawi, Clean Jammu — from May 21 to May 23.

During the three-day campaign, the PWWA will organise a walk, cultural programmes, nukkad nataks, slogan writing, painting competition, lectures on waste management, quiz and a cleanliness drive at different places.

More than 3,000 students from 48 government and private schools are taking part in the programme, which will be conducted at 10 different places.

Sat Sharma, Minister for Housing and Urban Development Department, will be the chief guest at the inaugural session at Parade Ground, Jammu, and Rajesh Gupta, MLA, Jammu (East), and BB Vyas, Chief Secretary, willbe the guests of honour.

Shesh Paul Vaid, Director General of Police, will be the presiding guest.

Bharti Vaid, chairperson, PWWA, along with the DGP, said programmes would be held at Bikram chowk, Swaran chowk, railway station, Baghri Mandi, Wave Mall, Nowabad, Indira chowk, Maheshpura chowk, Balbinder chowk, Rehari Chungi and Radio Station chowk.

The programmes will be organised by students and NSS volunteers, Academy of Art Culture and Languages, Information Department, Regional Outreach Centre, Jammu Police Orchestra Team, 92.7 Big FM and the cultural team of the J&K Police.
