Patwaris go on 4-day strike

JAMMU: After a series of meetings with the government failed to yield any results, the J&K Patwar Association o today went on four-day token strike in protest against the failure of the Revenue Department to address their issues.

After a series of meetings with the government failed to yield any results, the J&K Patwar Association o today went on four-day token strike in protest against the failure of the Revenue Department to address their issues.

The association is demanding increase in the grade pay of graduate patwaris. Moreover, the timely departmental promotion of patwaris and girdawaris has not been conducted for the last four years. The association is also seeking the enhancement of allowances.
