Porter killed in truce violation in Keran

SRINAGAR: A civilian porter was killed and another injured when Pakistan allegedly violated the ceasefire agreement in the frontier district of Kupwara of north Kashmir.



Srinagar, May 27

A civilian porter was killed and another injured when Pakistan allegedly violated the ceasefire agreement in the frontier district of Kupwara of north Kashmir.

Sources said the incident took place in the Keran sector on Saturday, when three-five civilian porters were moving from one post to another and they came under volley of fire from across the Line of Control.

“As per initial information one porter died in the firing and another was injured,” sources said.

The ceasefire violation took place on a day when the Army foiled a major infiltration bid in the Uri sector in Baramulla district. — TNS
