Rajnath lauds bravery of forces, families

JAMMU: Special Director General (DG) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), J&K Zone, SN Shrivastava today met Shahzada Khan, wife of Rifleman Nazir Ahmed, who was seriously injured in the Sunjuwan terror attack and delivered a healthy baby girl at Military Hospital, Satwari.

Jammu, February 13

Special Director General (DG) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), J&K Zone, SN Shrivastava today met Shahzada Khan, wife of Rifleman Nazir Ahmed, who was seriously injured in the Sunjuwan terror attack and delivered a healthy baby girl at Military Hospital, Satwari.

The Special DG was carrying the message of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh who appreciated the bravery of the soldiers and their families.

During the attack, Shahzada Khan was seriously injured and was rushed to Military Hospital where she was saved and also gave birth to a healthy girl child.

“As a mark of respect towards the brave woman and to bless the newborn, the Special DG met Shahzada Khan at the hospital on the behalf of the Union Home Minister and conveyed his appreciation for the bravery shown by the woman. He further conveyed that till the time that there are persons, such as Shahzada Khan, the country shall thwart similar attempts gallantly and successfully,” an official spokesperson said.

Shrivastava blessed the baby and presented a bouquet to the woman as a token of solidarity to her on the behalf of the Home Minister.

He also appreciated the skills and efforts of the doctors and medical staff for the way they handled the situation successfully and saved the life of Shahzada and also brought her daughter to this world.

Mehbooba pays last respects to martyrs  

Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday laid floral wreaths on the bodies of Army personnel who were killed in Saturday’s militant attack at the Sunjuwan Army camp. Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh; ministers Abdul Haq Khan and Choudhary Zulfkar; Jammu West MLA Sat Sharma,  senior Army and police officers also laid wreaths on the bodies of the martyrs. Later, the Chief Minister interacted with the family members of the slain Army personnel and consoled them.
