Rajnath takes stock of security arrangements

SRINAGAR: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Srinagar on Wednesday afternoon on a two-day visit to review the security situation, particularly related to the Amarnath yatra.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Srinagar on Wednesday afternoon on a two-day visit to review the security situation, particularly related to the Amarnath yatra.

The Home Minister is scheduled to visit the cave shrine on Thursday.

Soon after his arrival, the Home Minister reviewed the security situation. Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh was also present at the meeting. Others who attended the meeting included senior officers of the police, Army and other security agencies.

Rajnath directed the officials to share inputs and coordinate with each other for better security arrangements. He also reviewed the facilities for the yatris — TNS
