Jammu, February 5

A crucial meeting of the Sangh Parivar will be held in New Delhi on February 10 to take a final call on government formation in J&K.

As the PDP president, Mehbooba Mufti, has set some preconditions for the restitching of alliance with the BJP, the Sangh Parivar, a conglomerate of various organisations affiliated to the RSS, has decided to tread cautiously in the only Muslim-majority state.

Top leaders of the RSS from J&K and members of the core group of the state BJPwill sit together with party president Amit Shah and other central leaders to discuss pros and cons of the fresh alliance with the PDP, said BJP source.

“The Parivar leaders feel that every aspect should be thoroughly discussed before responding to the conditions set by the erstwhile coalition partner,” the source said.

Top RSS leaders, including Brig Suchet Singh, Parshotam Dedechi and Ramesh Pappa, have been specially invited for the Delhi meeting to seek their opinion on the remerger. It is a rare occasion when top leaders of the J&K’s RSS unit are invited to Delhi to take a political decision.

“J&K forms the core of Sangh Parivar’s ideology and BJP leaders want to take all constituents into confidence before taking a final decision,” a source said.

Sources said the decision to hold the high-profile meeting at New Delhi was taken during Thursday’s meeting at the residence of former Forest Minister Bali Bhagat.
