Shias protest killing of innocent people by ISIS

JAMMU: Shia Muslims protested against the killing of innocent people by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in the two countries and policies of Israel against people of Palestine.

Jammu, June 23

Shia Muslims protested against the killing of innocent people by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in the two countries and policies of Israel against people of Palestine.

Under the banner of the Anjuman-e-Imamia and supported by All Ladakh Student Association, Anjuman-e-Haidari, Anjuman-e-Hussaini and other Anjumans of Poonch, hundreds of Shias after holding Friday prayers expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine against the “illegal occupation” of Palestinian land by Israel.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Sujat Khan, secretary, Anjuman, said Muslims of Jammu stood shoulder to shoulder with the oppressed people of Palestine and against terror organisations like the ISIS. “We gathered here to pay homage to the children who have been killed by Israeli forces in Palestine and the innocent killings done by the ISIS in Iraq and Syria,” said Prof Khan.

Addressing the gathering, Moulana Ali Badshah Naqvi, Imam, Jumma Imamia Masjid Peer Mitha, said it was the duty of every human being to come forward and support the oppressed people in Palestine.

“This protest has nothing to do with a particular community. Any person with any faith have right to stand against the illegal atrocities done by any regime in the world,” Naqvi said.

Syed Amanat Ali Shah, president, Anjuman-e-Imamia, said Islam was a religion of peace and harmony and had always stood against tyranny. He emphasised on maintaining a harmony within society and condemned all types of injustice, atrocities on innocent humans irrespective of caste, creed and colour throughout the world. — TNS
