JAMMU/ SRINAGAR: Three police personnel were injured after a grenade was hurled on the vehicle of the bus stand police station SHO on BC Road in Jammu late on Thursday night.

Three police personnel were injured after a grenade was hurled on the vehicle of the bus stand police station SHO on BC Road in Jammu late on Thursday night.

The grenade was reportedly hurled around 10.30 pm from a nearby flyover. SHO Rajesh Jasrotia received minor injuries, while his two personal security officers were injured seriously.

“It was a deliberate attack on the SHO’s vehicle. We are investigating the matter,” said Jammu SSP Vivek Gupta.

The police are still unsure about the attackers and the area has been cordoned off. Such an attack has taken place in Jammu after more than a decade.

Meanwhile, militants lobbed a grenade on the CRPF camp at Braripora in Srinagar, an official said, adding that no one was injured. — TNS/PTI
