Jammu, July 6

The state government on Friday cancelled all attachments of government employees with immediate effect. All the departments have been asked to submit a compliance report by July 16.

According to a government order issued by Governor NN Vohra-led state administration, all employees presently on attachment with their respective or other departments would be repatriated to their parent organisation with immediate effect.

The move was aimed at ensuring smooth functioning of various departments and offices. “Any official who fails to join his parent department or organisation after detachment, his salary shall be stopped from July 2018 by the drawing and disbursing officer (DDO) concerned failing which the DDO will be held responsible,” the order stated.

The order further said, “In cases where continuation of an employee on attachment is warranted under exceptional circumstances, the department concerned shall process his case for approval by the Adviser concerned for extension in the employee’s period of attachment which shall not exceed more than six months.”

Earlier, on July 3, the government had cancelled all attachments of officials in the Higher Education Department.
