SRINAGAR: Two bank guards were on Monday killed when militants opened fire on their vehicle in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

Srinagar, December 11

Two bank guards were on Monday killed when militants opened fire on their vehicle in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

Security forces have launched a search operation to track down the assailants.

A police official said, "Unidentified gunmen opened fire on a vehicle of Jammu and Kashmir Bank in the Keller area of Shopian this afternoon, resulting in injuries to two security guards."

The two guards, identified as Tariq Ahmad of Pulwama and Mushtaq Ahmad of Anantnag, succumbed to their injuries at a hospital, police said. — PTI
