Two yatris die, six hurt in road mishap

ANANTNAG: Two Amarnath yatris were killed and six injured when their vehicle met with an accident in Qazigund on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway on Monday morning.

Two Amarnath yatris were killed and six injured when their vehicle met with an accident in Qazigund on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway on Monday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Gaurav Pal (22) from Ludhiana and Vinok Kumar (25) from Ambala.

The injured were identified as Ravinder Kumar, Satyam Raina, Sukhbir Singh, Ashu Talwar, Govinder Singh and Rajesh Kumar.

“The injured were rushed to different hospitals. Doctors said they are out of danger,” a senior police official said.

“The vehicle in which they were travelling developed a technical snag. It skidded off the road and turned turtle multiple times,” the police official added.
