Education cooperation is on top of the agenda in the new configuration of India-Israel bilateral relations. The recent six-day visit of Israel’s President Reuven Rivlin bore testimony to this with tie ups between Inidan and Israeli universities taking shape. O. P. Jindal Global University (JGU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the College of Law and Business (CLB), and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HUJ) of Israel. The agreement aims to create a framework for global collaboration in areas of academics, research, faculty and student exchange programmes for the partnering institutions
Speaking on the occasion, President Rivlin, observed, it is the education and cultural exchanges that will consolidate Israel and India relations. The MoU is aimed to promote academic, cultural and personnel exchanges that can enrich the experience of students, research scholars and faculty members from both institutions, the agreement will also facilitate student and faculty exchange programmes and promote bilateral cooperation on research. — TNS
