Swami Dayanand Charitable Educational Foundation is offering more than 200 scholarships for professional courses engineering, medical, architectural, IT, pharmacy based on merit-cum-means to students all across India. As many as 30 per cent scholarships are reserved for women candidates. The foundation accepts multiple applications from a candidate.

Eligibility: Applicants must have secured 85 per cent and 7.5/10 GPA in Class XII. The family income should not be more than Rs 6 lakh p.a., with age limit of maximum 25 years. The candidate must have secured seat in any private or government institute. 

How to apply: Online. The supporting documents are to be mailed via post. 

Details: Varying scholarship amounts of Rs 15,000 to Rs 1 lakh are offered depending on the scholarship applied by the candidate.

National Scholarship Exam

Pratibha Education Society under the aegis of Government of India will offer monetary aid to the students securing a rank in the National Scholarship Exam. The purpose is to identify and nurture talented student and prepare them by highlighting their strengths.

Eligibility: Candidates of Class V to XII, must be admitted in SSC, ICSE or CBSE Board with proficiency in English and regional language. Candidates pursuing diploma or degree courses must be enrolled in a recognised university with English and regional language proficiency.  

How to apply: Online as well as offline.

Details: First position holder will receive Rs 9,999 to Rs 31,000. Second position holder will take away Rs 4,999 to Rs 18,500 and third position holder will get Rs 1,999 to Rs 9,000. The prize money varies depending on the class of enrolment. Rank holders 4-100 will receive consolation prize in each standard and participation certificates for all. Schools will receive honorarium.

Post- Matric Scholarship Scheme 

The Department of Education, Chandigarh Administrationhas recently announced a scheme to support, uplift and motivate students belonging to scheduled castes and other backward classes to enable them to complete their education.

Eligibility: Applicant must be a graduate. Candidates belonging to scheduled castes must not have family income more than Rs 2.5 lakh to be eligible for this scheme.

How to apply: Applications are accepted offline only.

Details: OBC candidates will receive varying maintenance allowance of up to Rs 750 and Rs 350 is assigned for hostellers and day scholars, depending on the group. Reader charges, study tour charges, annual book allowance of Rs 900, Rs 5000 for commercial pilot license course and other benefits. SC candidates will receive maintenance allowance of up to Rs 550 to Rs 1200 for day scholars and hostellers, depending on the group. Study tour charges, printing charges, book grant, allowances for students with disability are also provided.

National Award for Women Development

The Department of Science and Technology, Government of India,  honours individuals and institutions who have worked for women development through science and technology and is inviting applications for nominations from both, individuals and institutions who have worked for the same. 

Eligibility: Candidates with minimum work experience of 10 years with proven contribution in research design, development, adaptation, or application of science and technology at the grassroot level for women’s development.

Details: Cash prize of Rs 5 lakh to individuals and Rs 15 lakh for institutional category, memento and citation will be given to the awardee. 

How to apply: Applications are accepted via post to Head, Science for Equity Empowerment and Development (SEED), Division, Department of Science & Technology, Technology Bhawan, New Mehrauli Road, New Delhi - 110016.
