Keeping in view the booming construction business in an around Pathankot, students completing their civil engineering course are getting decent placements in renowned construction and engineering companies of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. A highly acclaimed workshop-Robotyrist- on Robotics was organised by the institute in collaboration with IIT, Kharagpur, this year. The institute has also achieved fame because of the fact that top companies like Reliance, IBM, Wipro, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, HCL, Airtel Bajaj Alliance and Vardhman Steels regularly visit the campus to effect placements.

Golden College of Engineering and Technology, Gurdaspur

The College is one of the few Engineering and Technology institutes located in the border district of Gurdaspur. It is just 15 km from the wire fencing and more than 900 students study here. Its USP is the state-of-the-art infrastructure. The faculty is highly qualified and the drop out rate is almost nil.  What motivates parents to admit their wards here is the fact that the management goes out of its way to provide jobs to students once their courses are completed.

Institute of Hotel Management, Catering & Nutrition, Gurdaspur

In 2010, Competition Success Review (CSR) rated the Institute as the 'Best Institute in Terms of Infrastructure' among all the 25 government run Hotel Management Institutes in the country. Students get employment in national and international airlines, cruise ships and International hotel chains. Many of the faculty members have won accolades at national level. The Institute provides financial assistance on need basis to poor students, particularly those coming from rural areas. 

Courses offered:

  • 3 year Bachelor’s of Science (BSc) in Hospitality and Hotel Administration.
  • 1-1/2 year Diploma in Food Production.
  • 1-1/2 year Diploma in Food and Beverage Service.
  • 8 week course conducted by the Union Ministry of Tourism in Food Production and Food and Beverage Service.
