Newcastle University is inviting applications for Women in Leadership scholarship which is an initiative to support innovative business women to become influential leaders. Through this scholarship, successful MBA candidates will receive mentoring support from the Business School Director, Professor Sharon Mavin, an international scholar in gender, leadership and organisation studies. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong track record for academic excellence and a wealth of professional experience. 

Details: Partial award of £11,000, payable towards the cost of tuition fees

Eligibility: To be eligible for this scholarship the candidates must have completed the scholarship application form, including an essay of no more than 1,000 words in response to the question listed. Submissions need to be in English

  • Hold a conditional or unconditional offer of admission to the full-time MBA for 2018 entry and have managerial experience of  three years
  • Ideally hold the equivalent of a UK 2:1 honours degree
  • Perform well at interview across all competency areas
  • Hold an English language qualification of IELTS 6.5 or its equivalent.

Swarnajayanti Fellowships Scheme

The Department of Science and Technology invites scientists with a proven track record to do basic research for a period of not more than five-years in the frontier areas of science and technology.

Eligibility: Doctorate degree holders in science, engineering or medicine, aged between 30 to 40 years and holding a regular position in any recognised Indian research organisation.

How to apply: Online only.

Details: Rs 25,000 p.m. for five years, grants for equipment, computational facility, consumables, contingencies, national and international travel and other special requirements will be provided, based on merit.

Summer Fellowship at IISER

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Mohali, is inviting applications from graduation and post-graduation programme pursuers for two-month research and inter-disciplinary course work.  

Eligibility: Candidates in second or third year of BSc. programme or in the first year of MSc. are welcomed to apply for this programme.

Details: Fellowship of Rs 5,000 and second class train fare to IISER Mohali and return will be given to the awardee.

Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize 

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research awards scientists with outstanding contributions to science and technology who have conspicuously important and outstanding contributions to human knowledge and progress.

Eligibility: The applicant must be involved in research in applied or fundamental disciplines of biology, chemical, earth, atmosphere, ocean and planetary, engineering, mathematics, medicine and physical sciences, aged not more than 45 years.

How to apply: Applications can be made via post only to Scientist In charge — SSB YSA Unit Human Resource Development Group, CSIR Complex, Library Avenue, Pusa, New Delhi.

Details: The scholar will be awarded Rs 5 lakh p.a.
