Abraam Pandey, who has been a part of popular show Badi Door Se Aaye Hai, talks about his journey so far and how he became  an actor

How has been your journey so far?

It has been good so far. The special thing was that I directly got a call from the writer of the show Badi Door Se Aaye Hai and he asked me to be part of the project. I was struggling at the time. I spent the next four to five months in Mumbai and then they gave me six days work. But the character got so popular that the role was stretched for six months. From that day, I have been getting work back-to-back.

What is your family background?

One of my brother is an IAS officer and the other one an IPS officer. Even my dad was an IAS officer. But they have always supported my dreams. Basically, I am from a village called Ramapur. I spent 17 years in the village and later, shifted to Delhi for studies.

How did you get into acting?

I never went for any acting classes or pursued any acting course. It’s just that I love acting. I was once a banker, before getting into the industry. I wasn’t happy doing a job, so I started a business but then left that also. I came to Mumbai to try my hand at acting. I gave auditions and was lucky to get shows like C.I.D, Sadda Haq season 2, Shapath and then Badi Door Se Aaye Hain.

Are you scared of getting typecast in comedy roles?

Yes, I am scared. I want to play characters with grey shades. I love comedy but would love to experiment more as an actor.
