Actor Akshay Kumar has apologised to the fan, who was punched by his bodyguard at an event, and also termed the incident as “unfortunate”.

There were reports that one of the actor’s bodyguards punched a fan when he tried to take a selfie with Akshay at the airport some time back. In fact, a video of the same has also surfaced online, creating a frenzy on social media.

The actor shared that he has “reprimanded” the bodyguard, and will ensure such incidents are avoided in the future.

Bollywood’s Khiladi Kumar tendered an apology on his Twitter handle and Facebook page.

The post read: “What happened that day was unfortunate and uncalled for. I was at the airport and I heard a commotion which made me turn around, I didn’t notice anything wrong so I walked on. It was later brought to my notice that my bodyguard had punched a fan.

“I have reprimanded him and given him a strict warning for the same. My sincere apology to the fan who was hurt. I hold my fans in the highest regard and such incidents are always upsetting. I will ensure such a scenario is avoided in the future.” On the work front, Akshay is busy with Rajinikanth-starrer Robot 2, and will also be soon seen in Housefull 3 and Rusto.
