Mika Singh, Charan Singh Sapra and Vicky Kaushal
On the occasion of Baisakhi, the Punjabi Cultural Heritage Board hosted the Punjabi Icon Awards and honored the eminent Punjabi Achievers of various fields. The event was spearheaded by the President of Punjabi Cultural Heritage Board (PCHB), Shri Charan Singh Sapra. This year’s award recipients were Vicky Kaushal, celebrity chef Ranveer Brar, Sports icon Harmanpreet Kaur, singer Mika Singh, journalist Simi Chandoke and RJ Pritam Singh. Mika sang some popular Punjabi songs and got Vicky and Charan Singh dancing on the same.
Speaking about the event, Charan Singh Sapra says, “Baisakhi, being the beginning of harvest, is also considered the New Year of Punjabis across the globe. It feels good to see Punjabis and non-Punjabis enjoy Baisakhi together with so much enthusiasm. Every year we make sure to celebrate our culture with these festivals.” c
