Bollywood celebrities, including legends Amitabh Bachchan, Lata Mangeshkar and Dilip Kumar, on Thursday sent out their good wishes to fans around the globe by wishing them a ‘happy and safe’ Diwali.

“Diwali greetings begin in huge abundance...and we work...just so all the family can breathe peacefully,” Bachchan, 75, posted on Twitter.

Dilip Kumar, along with a picture with wife Saira Banu, tweeted, “May this beautiful festival of Diwali fill your lives with joy, happiness, prosperity and peace. God bless.”

Mangeshkar also took to Twitter and wrote, “Namaskar. Aap sab ko Deepavali ki hardik shubhkaamanayein.”

Urging fans to light “at least one diya” for the Army, actor Akshay Kumar wrote, “We are, because they are.”

Emraan Hashmi asked fans to have an “eco-friendly” Diwali and wrote, “Hoping that the dazzling lights of Diwali bring you peace, prosperity and good health. Have an eco-friendly and noise free Diwali guys.”

“Happy Diwali beautiful people. You are beautiful because you are human. Celebrate your weakness and your strength.

Sending you all my love,” wrote actor Hrithik Roshan.

Sridevi took to micro-blogging and uploaded a picture with husband Boney Kapoor, writing, “Wishing all of you a very Happy Diwali. May this day bring prosperity, good health and peace to all. #HappyDiwali.”

For actor Alia Bhatt, it was double celebration as Diwali coincides with the fifth anniversary of her debut, ‘Student of the Year’.

“Happy happy Diwali to you all! Today is a very special day. For two reasons. Diwali being the first and 5 years of SOTY being the second,” Alia wrote.

Filmmaker Karan Johar tweeted, “Happy Diwali...All my love to you and yours! Keep it safe...Cracker free and full of love.”

“May you find the light in you this Diwali and help brighten this world with more compassion and happiness,” actor Anushka Sharma wrote.

Among others who wished fans were actors Anupam Kher, Arjun Kapoor, Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh. PTI
