Crown-ing glory

No one ever wants to lose the crown – hair! Hair loss can be attributed to multifarious causes, including stress, mental ailments, change in weather or dandruff; or skin ailments like psoriasis pityriasis versicolor, keratosis, fungal infections, crusta lactea et al. 

Alopecia areata is another vastly prevalent disease in men and women alike. It even extends to face, eyebrows, beard, moustaches and even whole body. Lichen planus is also the cause of ailments of the scalp, which result in hair loss. Stress, anxiety, grief and insanity can also lead to premature greying and shedding of hair. 

Hair the story 

Hair texture can be classified into many varieties, including dry, oily, split, tangled, brittle, thick etc. Dyes, colours, sprays, styling gels and other procedures like curling as well as straightening of hair are adding to the complications. Continuous use of gels and chemicals can lead to premature greying as well as baldness. Various types of dandruff - dry powder-like, scaly, oily, white, yellow, dirty, moist and itchy - can invade the scalp and result in loss of hair. Radiation and chemotherapy can be other causes of hair loss. 

Homoeopathy route

This system of medicine is very effective in tackling all sorts of diseases of scalp and hair.  Alopecia areata, Keratosis, Lichen planus, Pityriasis versicolor and Psoriasis are all treatable through homoeopathy. Crusta lactea, found generally in infants and children but occasionally in adults too, is also treatable. Tangling of hair, Plica polonica, oozing of moisture on scalp and recurrent infestation of lice, Pediculus capitis, is curable too. Hair loss, dandruff, premature baldness and greying of hair can also be managed quite well. Local application of medicine also helps in effective growth of hair and removal of seborrhoea (dandruff), and, thus, seborrhoeic dermatitis. In homoeopathy, each individual is different and has his or her own set of mental as well as physical symptoms. Therefore, identical-looking cases or diseases need different selection of medicines. Homoeopathy treats each individual separately and each set of symptoms are of foremost importance in selection of the remedy.
