Goal, the dream begins (2005)

This is the story of Santiago Munez and his struggles to become a world-famous footballer. Santiago’s journey is full of challenges and obstacles but by virtue of his skill and passion, he overcomes them to emerge a hero. The film is a constant reminder of how the beautiful sport can change one’s life! There’s also something extra for all the football fans; with the likes of Zinedine Zidane and David Beckham making special appearances!

The Damned United (2009)

Based on David Peace’s novel – The Damned Utd, this film is a sports drama that offers a dramatic re-enactment of the short lived tenure of Brian Clough as the manager of Leeds United. The movie tells the story of the darkly humorous Brian’s 44-day tenure with a team he disliked. The film beautifully exhibits the weird psyche of a coach who loves football and wants to impose a new style.

Soccer dreams turn nightmares 

Sikandar (2009)

A kid’s obsession with sports is well depicted in this movie. The story is about how a 14-year-old, Sikandar wants to only play football. And it is the protagonist’s dream to excel and become an expert in the sport. However, Sikandar’s innocence and love for football goes away when he gets onto a different and darker journey.

Pentecost (2010)

The movie revolves around Damien, a little rebel who is extremely passionate about football. Unfortunately, he is forced to serve a 3-month ban from his only passion following the incident at church where Damien knocked off Father O’Toole off the altar. Damien has to choose whether to conform to the status quo or to never watch his beloved teams. This movie is all set to have a world premiere today, i.e, July 9 on Star Movies Select HD.
