This time it wasn’t just The Great Khali, who grabbed all the media attention. As the Indian-born, American wrestler walked in with an entourage of foreign wrestlers, all eyes and cameras focused on them, and you bet, they remained focused for a good measure of time.  As The Great Khali announced the dates of the upcoming wrestling competition in Himachal Pradesh, which are July 4 and 7, the three women wrestlers posing cheerfully caught our attention.

Jayme Jameson, Scarlett Bordeaux, Katie Forbes are part of the CWE Championship. While Katie from Georgia wanted to be a police officer, Scarlett from Chicago wanted to act in Broadway, and Jayme from Florida always wanted to be in front of the crowd. Their bold dressing did not talk aloud, but their enthusiasm and dreams did.

“I was a tomboy and I did wrestling in high school. So, I kind of knew where I was headed,” Jayme shares her story. Jayme is coming to India for the third time. She loves to travel, she has professionally wrestled in Canada, China but she loves India. Bollywood? Well, she is open to it, given a chance.

Katie, on the other hand, loves Indian food, she digs into a plate of paneer pakoda as she talks, she has a tattoo of Ganesha on her hand, and she loves the vibes that she gets from this country. And there is another, bold and beautiful wrestler on board— Scarlett, who can sing.

“I might do theatre or some kind of drama when I grow old,” smiles Scarlett, the one who wanted to be on Broadway.  And another wrestler in the group, who is also living his long-cherished dream is Khali himself. The professional wrestler wanted to open his own academy, which he has, and now he trains youngsters to be professional wrestlers. Kavita Devi is one WWE wrestler, who trained from Khali’s school.

“I wish to open more training schools but for that one requires funds. Right now it is not feasible for me to do so in every nook and corner of the country,” shares The Great Khali, who has an advice for the young, “Stay away from drugs, instead wrestle.”
