Poet and author Madhav Kaushik, who is also the chairman of Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi, has become the vice-president of Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi. 

Credited with publications of 29 books that include 12 collections of ghazals besides award winning Suno Radhika and Laut Aao Parth, he has been rightfully decorated with the Millennium Award, Raj Bhasha Ratna with Babu Bal Mukand Gupt Samman of Haryana Sahitya Akadmi to name a few. Madhav has also written the script of award winning tele-film Hari Bhari Haryali Dharti.

Sharing his vision and agenda, Madhav says, “I want to improve and maintain the qualitative writing in all 24 Indian languages providing a diverse and wider spectrum for depth and range of thought as also the dignity of the authors.” He also aims to establish the Indian languages and literature ensuring the participation in international seminars and festivals.
