Jasmine Singh
He walks with an air of confidence, his entourage has grown bigger and he knows it like the back of his hand. The air around him is definitely hotting up, and the young singer Dilpreet Dhillon doesn’t mind the heat as long as he glows in its light! This singer from Fatehgarh Sahib is now a citizen of New Zealand, but he often juggles between the ‘apna’ Punjab and ‘phoren desh’. Dilpreet has hit the target with his latest single Gunday No 1, which is doing the rounds, almost like a hurricane. With a hairstyle that might remind you of Elvis Presely, this singer is going just right.
Dream come true
I always wanted to sing, but it was restricted to college and school functions only. Finally, the day came when I released my single track Gunday No 1 and it is a dream come true to see that it has become a rage.
In case I had not been a singer…
I am glad that whatever I dreamt of has paid off. Had I not been a singer, I would have been driving a truck abroad.
Training, not an issue
Even though I understand the importance of training, I haven’t had any formal training in singing. I would listen to Kulwinder Dhillon and here I am. However, I do practice everyday, as and when I can.
Going live
I am doing live shows left, right and centre. It is a good feeling to get all the adulation. It is wonderful to see audiences reacting to my song. Even though all my live performances have been rocking, the one in PU, Chandigarh, went off really well.
Collaborate…
Well, it is too early to think about collaborations. As of now, I am working on my next single Thar Wala Yaar and also for a New Year show for PTC. This is what is taking my time.
Style check
I don’t think I have a style, or maybe I have one but I didn’t know about it till people pointed out. This hairstyle of mine is something that gets me those second looks. I don’t work much on my style; I wear what I am comfortable in and am always positive. I guess this helps.
Inspiration comes calling
I have been listening to Kulwinder Dhillon and Surjit Binrakhiya and these two singers have inspired me a lot.
Filmi chakkar
As of now, I only want to concentrate on singing and nothing else. Films is a chapter I have reached to as of now.
