It’s been nine long years since the fans last heard from the young wizard. Since his final confrontation with Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows!

Now, for some spoilers (aren’t they hard to resist). We hear that the much awaited eighth book has Harry working at the Ministry of Magic and is married with three children. His oldest son, Albus, has trouble coping with such a family legacy. As the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child hits the bookshelves on July 31 at 11.30 am (global release), let’s see if there’s a ruckus in the city.

Getting ready

Harry Potter series is one of the most issued books in our section. In fact, it is never on the shelves. Little wonder, we order replacement copies every year because they are also the most tattered books. For the latest Harry Potter edition, we have procured the digital copy, which will be available online from August 1. Apart from that there will be two hard copies, most likely to be available within the first week of launch.

All booked

We are getting the latest edition the same day. But since it’s a Sunday, it will be available by the evening only. We have already ordered 100 copies and there have been verbal reservations for the same. The only two factors that could play a possible spoiler this time is the fact that it is a play, so it’s in script form. Secondly, the online market and issues are likely to eat into hard copy sales.

Sunday open

Over the years, Harry Potter has built a loyal readership, so those who have read the previous seven books will invariably go for this one, a play or not. Half the people don’t even know, it’s a play, so they’ll buy it anyway. We’ll be open for a few hours on Sunday this time, because of the book, of which we have ordered 200 copies.
