Jatt like that!

Avkash Mann

Jasmine Singh

How often do we catch ourselves thinking about the past, thinking about how quickly time hops from one second to another, creating new stories? This time this column is dedicated to all the new chapters in the life of artistes from the Punjabi entertainment industry, and here we go.

Welcome, my son!

Renowned Punjabi singer-actor Harbhajan Mann has shared a heartfelt Facebook post welcoming his son, Avkash Mann into a new artistic chapter. The post reads, ‘My wife Harman and I are extremely proud of our son Avkash Mann for completing his studies at the prestigious University of Toronto, and then further following his passion by pursuing and working very hard and diligently in his education as an artiste. Now, as he ventures into the world in the artistic chapter of his life, we wish and hope that you shower your blessings and love onto Avkash as you have done for me over the span of my career.’ This young and handsome star kid will definitely make quite a noise in the industry!

Away from the gangs

Punjabi singer Mankirat Aulakh’s new single, Daru Band, comes as a change from his usual Gangland songs that we’ve been hearing for a long time now. Daaru Band is a playful romantic number; the video shows Mankirt wooing a girl, telling her he has stopped drinking after seeing her. Now, this sounds like a Sharry Mann kind of song!

Flight with a difference

Director Harry Bhatti has wrapped up the shoot of his up and coming film Aate Di Chidi, which stars Neeru Bajwa and Amrit Mann. It is for the first time we’d see the two artistes together on screen. Neeru Bajwa also shared the first look poster of the film. As for Amrit Mann, he might be collaborating with Punjabi singer Jasmine Sandlas for another single after Bamb Jatt.

Way to go Gulzar

Punjabi actor Gulzar Chahal has turned producer with an international production The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir, starring Dhanush. Gulzar, along with the crew of the film, took their project to Cannes International Film Festival 2018. The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir is directed by Hollywood director Ken Scott and is set for an August release in India.

This Jatt is not comfortable with IELTS

Well, you’ve seen all kinds of Jatt films, there is Jatt Da Badla, there is Jatt and Juliet, you also have Jatt Airways, and now put your hands together for Jatt Vs IELTS. The film directed by Devi Dutt stars anchor-turned-actor Ravneet in the lead role. It also stars Gurpreet Ghuggi, Hobby Dhaliwal and Anita Devgan. This is Ravneet’s debut as a lead actor.

PS: Hey, sunshine!

Punjabi singer Sunanda Sharma religiously keeps her date with social media. Recently, she tweeted a happy and funky picture of hers with the title, “Happiness which comes from soul.’
