Shiddat: the next big period drama

Filmmaker Abhishek Varman is finally back as a director post 2 States with a film titled, Shiddat. The film will reunite the cute onscreen couple Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. The film is touted to be a multi-starrer and several reports have been making the rounds about the cast of the film.

It was stated that the film would see the return of Gumrah duo Sanjay Dutt and Sridevi after 25 years. "Sridevi and Sanjay Dutt have been approached for the movie. But they both are yet to give a nod," reveals a source.

Recently, during a media interaction, ace designer Manish Malhotra confirmed the cast of the film. He stated, "I am working on a period film starring Varun and Alia, Sanjay Dutt, Sridevi, Aditya Roy Kapur, so that's a big cast." Well, there are rumours of Sonakshi Sinha also being a part of the film, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Manish said, "I am excited to be starting this new period film for my favourite, Alia. Partition is a period I feel close to.”
