Call it quirky or term it experimental, but there is no denying the fact that actor Ranveer Singh compels others to do the double take with his unique sense of fashion, every single time! While Singh’s looks might fetch him varying reactions from both the fashion police and onlookers, as fashion designer duo — Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna — put it, Singh, who is ‘one of the most regular’ wearers of their apparels, is the perfect ‘exemplification’ of what fashion truly means. 

“The best part about Ranveer Singh’s dressing sense is the fact that he is always up for pranks and showcases his mischievous side for all to see, through his clothes as well. Perhaps, that is what makes him a trendsetter in the true sense of the word. You should wear clothes that define you the way you are. Instead of following fashion trends blindly, one must always see what really suits them,” share Gandhi and Khanna, who have recently announced the arrival of their collection – Scion of Skin. 

Shining bright

Well, in addition to subscribing to the belief of apparels being the extension of one’s personality, there is another thing that unites them — the duo’s love for sequins and studs, which more often than not, form a major part of their aesthetic. Ask them the reason behind the love for all things that ‘dazzle and sparkle’, and the duo replies in unison, “For those who think that sequins are only good for a night out, well, you’re not at all up-to-date with the new trend! After all, who doesn’t love to be flashy and gorgeous, catching all eyes as she walks down the street?” So, yes, sequins and metallic studs do figure in their new collection as well.

Rosy tint 

Just like Rome was not built in a day; fashion trends never quite get aced in a day! It takes proper planning and know-how of what goes with what and how to sport it best. 

Gandhi and Khanna toss in some tips on fashion trends that they foresee ruling the roost in the spring-summer season, “Spring Summer 2017 takes fashion back to re-defining a confident look with exaggerated lines, sheer, metallic effects and bright candy pink. At the top of our list for the trends of the season is pink, which provides a sweet new way to see fashion through rose-tinted glasses. So, whether you choose to layer lots of different hues over your separates or colour block by wearing coats over statement dresses, you won’t go wrong as long as it’s pink, pink and pink.” 

Bright highlight 

Before they get down to shedding light on some major highlights of their new collection, Gandhi and Khanna, sound a note of caution, “Scions of Skin is not a collection for the meek because your ultimate strength is only a reflection of who you really are, inside.”

Terming it the perfect mix of grandeur and contemporary edginess, the duo, shares that, “The collection is all about constructed silhouettes with mesh layering for the woman who likes to translate the souvenirs of her holiday adventures into her day-to-day wardrobe.”

What’s more, going by the colour palette and fabrication of their collection, the designer duo seems to be spelling the mantra that, “Hues such as liquid silver, frosty and pastel hues like lilac, ice blue and deep rose are all set to rule the roost this time around.” So, get set to make your very own style statement!
