This time in Punjabi circle, the entertainment industry, which has come a long way for sure from the jatt and guns culture, is trying its best to come up with songs and films that signify a change. So, this Independence, it is all about change and new creative ideas.

Honouring the brave 

Our audience is appreciating movies like Airlift,  and Sairat that strengthen our belief in the power of cinema. In Punjabi cinema too, Saga Music and Seven Color Motion Pictures are making one such initiative to bring a movie (biopic) that will honour our war hero, Subedar Joginder Singh, a Paramvir Chakra recipient. The role of Subedar Joginder Singh is played by singer-actor Gippy Grewal. 

Says Sumeet Singh, managing director Unisys Infosolutions, “It will be a great honour to a warrior who died for the nation just to prove —Country above self. This Independence Day let of all us pay a tribute to the soldiers who did the supreme sacrifice to save our motherland.”

Punjabi actor Gavie Chahal has shared the official trailer of his upcoming film, Yeh Hai India releasing August 18. The film is an extraordinary journey of a NRI guy exploring India. This Independence Day, this is Gavie’s treat to his fans. The actor will next be seen in Tiger Zinda Hai with Salman Khan.
