How Hollywood hunk George Clooney is besotted with his smart human rights lawyer wife Amal is a story we all know. Their romantic tales have made headlines since their fairytale wedding in Venice last September. The latest snippet doing rounds is that this three-time Academy winner, who has got a ramp installed in the house for Amal, takes a keen interest in his wife’s dress selection. Ah, all so sweet!

But then a loving guy keen to dress up his spouse is not a privilege limited to Amal alone. We know Tricity men who go at lengths to make sure their better- halves step out dressed to the nines.

Colour code

Ritika and Sakul is a couple head over heels in love, eagerly looking forward to tying the nuptials in coming winter. And, here Sakul has as much say in her dressing as she in his! So much so that for their grand roka ceremony she wore what he chose for her and he went with her choice. “Ritika looks best in peaches and in long dresses, she turns into this Barbie doll,” shares Sakul.

So, no wonder this architect’s wardrobe is overflowing with dresses in pinks and reds and of course, peaches. While this girl dresses rather demurely to office, Sakul has his say in what colour she wears to work.

“We usually talk in the morning and discuss dresses among other things and end up wearing the same colour.” And yes, for their first special day together, Ritika wore a peach gown and he her choice—black tuxedo with a blue bow.

Bang on target

In a family kitty game, when men of the house were huddled in and their spouses sent out, Sukhman Rai emerged absolute winner as he described the exact colour of his wife Anmol’s dress, that of her clutch, nail paint she was wearing and also number of bangles she had on — all correct! Such is this shopaholic businessman’s obsession with his wife and why not when she is Mrs India 2015 Queen of Substance! In fact, not only he accompanies Anmol on the shopping trips most of the time, but also almost everyone else in their circle. “I admit, whenever I dress up according to his advice, I always turn out better,” says Anmol. She makes up for her husband’s attention doled on her by choosing his ensemble for important occasions.

For his eyes only

Married for 16 glorious years, Seema and Ravi Sharma have their romance alive and it’s her dressing that plays a big role here. They share a love for saris and nothing fancy but plain ones worn with silver trinkets. “Whenever I dress up, it’s for him only. So, I wear what he likes,” says Seema candidly.

If something that Seema has bought doesn’t find favour with her man, out it goes off the wardrobe. And, in case she is absolutely smitten with something he doesn’t approve, she would wear only on outings sans him. “Earlier, I would enjoy shopping on my own. Lately, I have realised when I wear only what he likes then why not take him along in the first place.” So, together they have larger part of their joint wardrobe filed with plan saris in pastels!

Here’s one-way traffic, and if you may, call on the wrong side. For popular author Ravinder Singh his role in wifey dearest’s dressing is restricted to answering the standard questions in monosyllable, ‘Am I looking good’ in affirmative, always! While Khushboo calls the shots when Ravinder selects the theme for his book launches and accompanies hubby for shopping. The hubby makes up by taking Khushboo on fitness trail, inviting her raised eyebrows when stopped from eating junk!
