Water therapy: Sukhna lake

A pretty pooch or a cute cat having their own facebook accounts and friends on the list is so passé! Welcome the likes of Mars Orbiter or High Force Waterfall, England which loves to tweet those awe-inspiring pictures of the faraway planet and latest events around the touristy spot.

Twitter is as much a prerogative of individuals as it is of some organisations and yes, objects like this twitter chair ‘TweetingSeat’ that tweets pictures of those who sit on it or that toaster ‘mytoaster’ that just tweets "Toasting" and "Done Toasting” or even the famous ‘Big Ben’ that has 449,864 followers, are getting increasingly popular.

Social media has taken us all over and how. GenNext wants to be updated all the time, decide if that ‘dress’ is golden white or golden blue and is more than welcome to accommodate inanimate objects in their online dialogue.

Sharad, who follows Mars Orbiter to keep up to date on the latest data collected, would like to see our Chandigarh Geri Route more active on twitter. “We have a page or two on the famous city route but what’s posted is random stuff. If someone could update real time info, would be welcome,” says this Panjab University student, who obviously is smitten by this road and wants to make most of it.

Regular walkers at Sukhna Lake, Smriti and Ishani, are hoping that the lake should share its plight. “This lake is a part of our life, shouldn’t it have a voice of its own?” question these psychology students. “What happened post bird flu scare must have killed the soul of our lake,” says Ishani, more of a writer sort, who wants to see the pride of Chandigarh doing its own talking.

In the city of wide beautiful roads, Bullets and Pajeros must have their own page… “Speedsters have their say, why shouldn’t the machines who are instrumental,” is the question which is being put up by Sunny, an entrepreneur, who loves to gather most his world ‘knowledge’ via social media.

When asked on one object from our country that the city twitterrati would love to have a twitter account, the answer came out to The Taj. “The world’s who’s who comes to visit this famous memorial of love and share their experience, how about the monument doing it on its own talking,” is the suggestion floated by Megha Sharma, an English teacher. Guess the best seat for the tweetseat could be our Taj…Wah Taj!
