Julie 2

Julie 2

A Hindi thriller film, Julie 2 has been written, co-produced, and directed by Deepak Shivdasani. It has been produced by Vijay Nair and features Raai Laxmi in the lead role which also marks her debut in Bollywood. Besides, actors Aditya Srivastava, Pankaj Tripathy, Rati Agnihotri, and Yuri Suri are also seen in prominent roles in the film. This is the sequel to Shivdasani’s earlier film Julie. While Viju Shah composed the film’s score and soundtrack, Sameer Reddy is the cinematographer. The film has been shot in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Dubai.

Not too tasteful

Honestly, I think, the movie is way too bold for the Indian sensibilities and it’s not very tastefully made either. The subject of the film, too, is obvious and boring. Please don’t watch it with your family.

Stale story

I didn’t like the film very much. Give it a miss not only for the bad acting skills that it brings to the table, but also for its stale and repeated storyline. I didn’t enjoy watching it at all.

Nothing new

We have all seen so many films that show the murky side of an industry that’s all to do with glitz and glamour, and it is ironical, but I don’t have the appetite for watching a film about the same issue yet again... There was nothing new in the film. I’d say, don’t watch it unless you have too much time to kill!

Murder on the Orient Express

Murder on the Orient Express is an American mystery drama film, directed by Kenneth Branagh and screenplay by Michael Green. It is based on the 1934 novel of the same name by Agatha Christie. The film stars Branagh as Hercule Poirot, with Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Josh Gad, Derek Jacobi, Leslie Odom Jr., Michelle Pfeiffer, and Daisy Ridley in supporting roles. The film is the fourth adaptation of Christie’s novel, following a 1974 film, a 2001 TV film, and a 2010 episode of Agatha Christie’s Poirot. The plot follows Poirot, a world-renowned detective, who seeks to solve a murder on the famous European train in the 1930s.

It’s a good job

I first read the book, Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie, when I was in seventh standard, and I can’t tell you how much I loved it... perhaps, my being here for the film’s ‘first day first show’ speaks volumes about my love for it... The makers have done a good job, but I still like the book better. I guess, it’s a fight between the two mediums and I have definitive choices.

Gripping tale

I haven’t read the novel, but I loved the film. It has a beautiful storyline and I love how they have recreated the era of the 1930s. I didn’t even head out for the interval. It was so gripping!
