10 booked for selling banned Chinese strings

LUDHIANA: As many as 10 people were booked for selling banned plastic or Chinese strings on Lohri eve at different police stations. The police have recovered around 150 spools of Chinese string from them.

As many as 10 people were booked for selling banned plastic or Chinese strings on Lohri eve at different police stations. The police have recovered around 150 spools of Chinese string from them.

The Division Number 3 police have registered a case under Section 188 of the IPC against Sonu for allegedly selling Chinese string at his shop near CMCH Chowk. As many as 10 spools of banned string were recovered from him, the police said.

In the second case, the Division Number 4 police have booked Anuj Syal of Chander Nagar for allegedly selling the banned string. The police said 21 spools of string were recovered from him. The police of Division Number 6 claimed to have recovered 29 spools of Chinese string from Manjit Singh of Janakpuri. A case under Section 188 of the IPC has been registered against him and his unidentified aides. 

The Division Number 7 police have also arrested a man for allegedly selling Chinese string at Sanjay Gandhi Colony. The accused has been identified as Ramandeep Singh. The police said nine spools were recovered from him.

Brij Mohan of Gulchaman Street Ludhiana was arrested when he was going to supply 19 spools of Chinese string to someone on the Chandigarh Road. A case under Section 188 of the IPC has also been registered against him at Division Number 7 police station.

The Salem Tabri police have arrested a man identified as Munish Sethi of Bhagwan Das Colony and recovered 30 spools of Chinese string from him. A resident of Lajpat Nagar, Kuldeep Kapila was arrested for allegedly selling Chinese string on Noorwala Road. After recovering 18 spools of string, a case under Section 188 of the IPC was registered against Kapila at Jodhewal Police Station.

The Ladhowal police have booked Sat Naryana of Hambran for allegedly selling Chinese string and recovered five spools from him.

In another case, Rohit Kular was booked under Section 188 of the IPC at Sahnewal police station. A total of 12 spools were recovered from him.

The Daresi Police recovered five spools of banned string from Rajinder Kumar of Daresi Road Ludhiana and registered a case under Section 188 of the IPC against him..
