2 charged with abduction bid

The Payal police have initiated a probe into an incident in which two youths had tried to abduct a girl of Bhikhi village yesterday. The accused have been identified as Vishavjit Singh and Gurinder Singh of Ghudani village.

Investigations revealed that the suspects had allegedly attempted to abduct the victim after she was dropped at Ghudani bus stand on her way to her home on Sunday evening. When she tried to resist their attempt, they beat her and fled after being challenged by villagers.

The police have registered a case under Section 365 of the IPC and initiated the probe. No arrest was made yet. — OC
