In yesterday’s clash, when two groups exchanged fire and used swords against each other, the police claimed to have nabbed three persons. The Tribune had highlighted in its column that the Shubham group was involved in the clash and the police also confirmed their involvement.
Those nabbed have been identified as Sandy Kapoor, alias Sam, of Khud mohalla; Subham, alias Shabbi, of Ambedkar Colony, Cheem chowk; and Kavish Patial, a resident of GTB Nagar, Jamalpur. A case under Section 307, 148, 149 of the IPC and 25/27-54-59 of the Arms Act has been registered against them.
Apart from the arrest of the remaining accused, may be over a dozen in numbers, the police are yet to clarify if the weapons used during the clash were legal or illegal. Police Commissioner RN Dhoke said enough force had been deployed at each nook and corner of the city to keep tabs over anti-social elements ahead of the municipal corporation elections.
ADCP Rajvir Singh said several persons involved in the clash had been identified and raids were on to nab them.
