Ludhiana, October 21
Three members of a family from Neelon village died in a road accident near Kohara village on the Ludhiana-Chandigarh road on Saturday, after the Swift car in which they were travelling, collided with the Punjab Roadways bus.
The deceased have been identified as Anuradha (44), her husband Gurjinder Singh (45) and their daughter Lovepreet (14). Two of their sons — Manpreet (12) and Onkar (7) — are undergoing treatment at a hospital and were stated to be serious.
Investigating Officer Paramjit Singh of Katani Kalan police post said soon after the collision, the Punjab Roadways bus driver fled from the spot. The bus belonged to Faridkot depot. The couple was immediately rushed to Fortis hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries, Singh said.
As per the information, the family was heading to Kurali to pay obeisance at some religious place.
